As Jacob, I recently purchased the Philips GC7805 steam iron and have been quite disappointed with my experience thus far. While the 120% steam capacity and 1500 ml water tank sound impressive on paper, they haven’t lived up to expectations.
Firstly, the steam output is quite underwhelming. Despite claiming to have 120% steam capacity, the steam output is barely noticeable and doesn’t seem to make much of a difference on the fabrics. The iron also lacks a steam boost function, which makes it difficult to tackle stubborn wrinkles.
Secondly, the water tank is difficult to fill and empty. The opening is quite small, and the tank doesn’t come off easily. This makes the process of refilling water tedious and time-consuming.
When compared to other steam irons I’ve used in the past, the Philips GC7805 falls short. It doesn’t produce as much steam or have as many features as some of the other irons I’ve tried. Additionally, I find the overall design to be clunky and awkward to maneuver.
Overall, I would rate the Philips GC7805 at 2 stars out of 5 possible. While the steam capacity and water tank size are impressive, the iron fails to deliver on performance and user experience. I would recommend looking for other options in the market that offer better value for money and performance.
